I absolutely loved the tones that you get out of it, and not only the tone but how you use them. I'll surely get the transcription to play a bit with those. In guitar/electric bass they call them natural harmonics, and artificial harmonics to the ones you call capo. Now I just need "C extensions" for all of the strings, on the top and on the bridge, and I can start playing Michael Manring stuff :) <3.

my daughter just started with the double bass this week-- she's 9. Cannot wait to show her this! Hearing the tones of the upright bass echo down the hall and reverberate thru the wood floors is just gorgeous....!!! Ah! I need to make a folder with all the inspiring players doing cool stuff like this

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen done on an upright.

I often regret that Mahler didn't keep all of his symphonies purely instrumental. Singing voices and lyrics tend to bother me. Here is a wonderful example of what Mahler could have put in place of the sung "Urlicht".
